Capcom has announced in its latest financial report that the Resident Evil 4 Remake has sold over 7 million units. Since its release in March 2023, the game has sold a remarkable 7.02 million units, thus bringing the whole franchise to 157 million units sold.

The paid expansion, Separate Ways, is also one of the reasons of the overall impact on Capcom’s bottom line is fantastic. The publisher achieved a record high in profits for the seventh consecutive year, with 15 games surpassing the one million unit sales mark, compared to nine titles last year. Clearly, Capcom’s strategy of reviving beloved classics while delivering fresh content is paying off.

Furthermore, rumors indicate that RE 9 may be announced later this year and launched by January 2025. Titles like Monster Hunter and Street Fighter are also seeing rising sales.

As a fan of the Resident Evil series, I believe the franchise has maintained its essence. Capcom, the developer, has consistently been a force. When a classic survival horror game like Resident Evil was brought into the modern era of gaming. The original game was a defining moment, and I was curious to see if the team could recreate that magic.
