PS5’s latest system update brings new community-powered features

Sony has released a new update for the PlayStation 5 console, which includes a feature called Community Game Help. Titled as 24.03-09.20.00, has landed today, April 24, and judging by its patch notes, it looks like quite a helpful addition to the already existing Game Help feature.

The new Community Game Help feature will allow players to find tips and tricks not only from the developers but also from players who have been taking videos from games, providing walkthroughs, and more. To experience this feature players can go to the Captures and Broadcast settings on their PS5, where they can opt-in to participate in the Community Game Help by allowing their videos to be automatically captured and added to the pool of available hints. This will be initially available only to select games, and will expand as time goes by.

The Quality of Life issues have also been addressed, including overall system stability and software performance. Without further ado, you can find the changes below:

Version: 24.03-09.20.00

  • Game Help has been expanded by adding Community Game Help features.
    • In Game Help, you will see hints labeled Community Game Help in supported games, which indicates that the hint was generated from other players’ gameplay videos.
    • You can participate in Community Game Help by allowing your gameplay video to be automatically captured and added to the feature upon review.
To opt in, go to Settings > Captures & Broadcasts > Captures > Auto Captures > Community Game Help, and then select Participate. You can also opt out at any time.
  • In Remote Play, if the persistent message “Remote Play connected.” is displayed during Remote Play, you can now hide this on your game screen. Go to Settings > System > Remote Play and turn on Hide Remote Play Connection Status.
  • We’ve improved system software performance and stability.
  • We’ve improved the messages and usability on some screens.
