Pokémon GO Rivals Week and GO Battle Weekend Announced, Boosted Shiny Encounters, Event Exclusive Bonuses and More

Trainers have gone a long, long time without participating in two events at the same time, but Niantic is here to shake some things up.

Beginning May 4, 2024, and ending May 9, 2024, Trainers will be able to delve into an event called Rivals Week, where they will have a lot of bonuses, and they are quite fun to take advantage of. From what I can see, it is all about friendly battles (or enemy, it is your choice), but all in all, this is going to be a great event.

Rivals Week Details

First and foremost, there will be a lot of bonuses, as mentioned above. While they might not be what you expect, they will bring you not twice, but ten times more XP.

10x XP from spinning Photo Discs at Gyms
2x Catch Candy
Increased chance to encounter Shiny Zangoose, Seviper, Throh, Sawk, Heatmor and Durant

This event will also feature a schedule for wild encounters, something that I, personally, have never seen before. But it will bring some excitement into the event.

Last but not least for this event, there will be a Timed Research where Trainers can get XP, Rare Candy, Fast TMs and encounters with event-themed Pokémon if they complete tasks.

Onto the next event, which is called GO Battle Weekend. This event will start on May 4, 2024, and end on May 5, 2024, and it is the perfect event to kick-start a good weekend, right? It is my dream to engage with other Trainers, and I am sure that is your dream too.

GO Battle Weekend Details

Event Bonuses

4x Stardust from win rewards, excluding the end-of-set rewards
The maximum number of sets you can play per day will increase from five to 20, and this bonus will be active from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. local time
Free battle-themed Timed Research, and the rewards will include an avatar item called Hala-Style Sandals.

Paid Timed Research

This one, like it is already said, it is a paid Timed Research, and Trainers can get this for $1, thus gaining access to event-exclusive tasks which will grant Stardust, one Star Piece, three Rare Candies, and three Rare Candy XL.

PokéStop Showcases

The GO Battle Weekend will host PokéStop Showcases where event-themed Pokémon will be eligible to enter. Probably the easiest rewards come from PokéStop Showcases, that is if you have the best Pokémon out there.
