Rumor: Xbox Games Showcase to be 2 hours long and to feature around 30 games

Rumor has shaken the industry after we received some juicy news ahead of the Xbox Games Showcase on June 9th. Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb said that this year’s showcase will be two solid hours long and feature about 30 games. Furthermore, it was noted that at least a handful of those are games we haven’t even heard of before.

I know everyone’s hyped about the Summer Game Fest, but let’s be real: the Xbox Games Showcase is where it’s at. Microsoft is pulling out all the stops this year, and some big names are potentially appearing. Remember The Initiative’s Perfect Dark? Yeah, it’s still in the limbo zone, but who knows, maybe we’ll finally get some solid updates.

Grubb spilled the tea on the Kinda Funny Gamescast and wasn’t holding back. A two-hour showcase packed with 30 games? That’s like Christmas for us gamers. Some heavy rumors are floating around about Gears 6 making an appearance. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see some other big first-party titles popping up out of nowhere.

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf might make a cameo, too. Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier hinted it could have a new name, so keep your eyes peeled for that. There are many expected titles, such as 33 Immortals, Avowed, Starfield: Shattered Space, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, South of Midnight, Clockwork Revolution, and more. Furthermore, as it was said, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is getting its dedicated Direct right after the showcase.

The event will start on June 9 at 10 AM PT. That’s when the Xbox Games Showcase kicks off, and it will be a wild ride. Microsoft’s got more updates lined up from June 10th till the end of the week on the Official Xbox Podcast, so stay tuned for all the latest news and reveals.
