2K Games plans to reveal a sequel to its Biggest Franchises at Summer Game Fest

2K Games is preparing for a major reveal next month, and it’s all going down at the Summer Game Fest. Mark your calendars for June 7 because that’s when the magic happens.

The official Summer Game Fest Twitter account dropped the bombshell, teasing a sequel to one of 2K’s “biggest and most beloved franchises.” Yeah, you heard that right.

If I am to think a few, big names come to mind. First up, Mafia 4. Remember when Hangar 13 confirmed in 2022 that they were working on a new Mafia game? They said it was “years” away, and guess what? It’s been a couple of them. Could we be seeing the next chapter in the Mafia saga? It’s a solid bet, considering the timeline.

What about BioShock? The last time we dipped into that mind-bending universe was with BioShock Infinite in 2013. In 2019, 2K announced that Cloud Chamber was working on a new BioShock game. It’s been a few years since that announcement, and this would be a perfect moment for them to pull back the curtain on what’s next for the series. Chills, right?

And then there’s Borderlands. Oh man, Borderlands 4 would be a slam dunk. The franchise has been a cash maker for 2K, and with a movie coming soon, it makes all the sense in the world to capitalize on the hype. Gearbox must be cooking up something, and a new game reveal would be the cherry on top.

Honestly, any of these games would be a massive win for fans. We don’t have to wait too long to find out, but you know how it goes – leaks are always possible. So, keep your eyes peeled and your ears to the ground.

I am ANGE1K. I started playing video games a long time ago. In a blink of an eye, I became a hardcore gamer. A couple of years later, I traversed to the professional Counter-Strike 1.6 scene. After the competitive ERA, I managed to find the gaming industry amusing and started working on FGR. 8 years after founding FGR, my mission remains the same. That is to discover secrets within the gaming industry, create guides for all the games I play, and provide you with some important news. Oh, yeah, I post tons of patch notes too. Currently stuck in WoW with high M+ keys, Tarkov, a bit of Gray Zone Warfare, Dota 2, and CS2. P.S. Last time I counted how many hours I've spent in video games turned out to be 13+ years. And that was a long time ago too. Almost 24/7 in front of PC. If you need anything, feel free to contact me on X!
