Diablo 4 Hotfix 12 Impacts Some Classes, Patch Notes and more

The hotfix was escorted by another Hotfix 13, which fixes some things caused by Hotfix 12.

Blizzard continues to tinker with their beloved Diablo 4. With the latest Hotfix 12 1.0.2, which rolled out on June 23, 2023, they’ve significantly tweaked gameplay mechanics and class-specific elements.

First and foremost, the gameplay change that’s causing the most buzz in the community is the adjustment to how specific unique weapons drop in-game. The Barbarian Unique weapons Overkill, Hellhammer, and Ancient’s Oath will no longer drop for Druid players.

Blizzard forewarns that Druid players who have these weapons equipped will still be able to use them, but should they be removed from the weapon slot, re-equipping will be impossible. Moving forward, these specific unique items will be out of the Druid’s reach, a strategic shift that will likely prompt new gameplay strategies and character builds.

HOTFIX 12 – JUNE 23, 2023 – 1.0.2

Gameplay Fixes

  • The Barbarian Unique weapons “Overkill”, “Hellhammer”, and “Ancient’s Oath” will no longer drop for Druid players.

Developer Note: We do want to forewarn that Druid players with these weapons already equipped will still be able to use them, but you will not be able to re-equip them if removed from your weapon slot. These uniques will no longer be available for Druid players to use moving forward.

Class Changes

Sorcerer

  • Fixed an issue where the increased damage from the Sorcerer’s “Combustion” ability was not applying correctly.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where the Sorcerer’s “Ice Shards” ability would cause excessive controller vibration.
  • Further stability and improvements.
