Pokemon Go 8th Anniversary Promo Poster featuring Party Hat Muk, Grimer, and Meltan – Could Zacian Return?

Trainers, July 6, 2016, was the day when Pokemon Go first appeared in the world of mobile gaming. Everyone was out, cell phones in hand trying to catch their favorite Pokemon, and it was all pretty cool if you ask me. But time has passed, many things have changed, and now it’s time for the 8th Anniversary Party!

Let’s be real, the number of active players back then wasn’t even remotely the same as it is now, but there was enough interest for Niantic and Pokemon Go to announce and hold events. The next important event is the 8th-anniversary event.

Niantic and Pokemon Go published this post not long ago, but it was taken down as soon as they realized it was a little early. However, the good news is that they are gearing up for a new event to celebrate the game’s 8th anniversary.

While the specific details are not yet known to us, we will use the promo image for speculation. I hope you don’t mind all that.

As you can see, the 8th Anniversary event focuses on Muk, Grimmer, and Meltan. Why Grimmer and Meltan? Well, Grimmer is number 88 in the Pokedex and Meltan is 0808, and we’re celebrating 8 years of Pokemon Go – here’s why.

We also expect to see other costume/Party Hat Pokemon in the game during the celebration. We also expected to be a little different with the hats, but no, we’ll be wearing the same Party Hat from 2018. Come on Niantic, do something more fun!

As for the bonuses, we expect to see some pretty interesting stuff. Lucky Friends bonuses, more XP, Stardust for specific tasks, different Raid Bosses, a Timed Research, maybe a new Masterwork Research, and the return of Zacian.

Mark my words, Zacian is number 0888 in the dex, which would be the perfect event for his return.

These are still just my speculations and imaginations, but they have often come true, so I see no reason why they would not come true now. We expect to learn more information throughout the day, so stay tuned for the latest Pokemon Go news.
